From the initial consultation, the brides were less concerned with floral varieties and instead wanted to focus on the feel of their day- a full reflection of their joy in full color. nectar&bloom ran wild with ROYGBIV and the results surpassed imagination.

Our calendar is bursting this June and we are wondering… Is spring the new fall?
Historically, peak wedding season fell to May and June with the concept of a June bride selling out newsstands in the 1950’s. But according to a recent article by The Knot, “Since 2019, fall continues to grow as the most popular wedding season. Spring, which was historically a popular time of year to get married, is slowly decreasing in popularity over time. March, April and May accounted for 17% of weddings in 2022 compared to 25% in 2019.”

4/1/23 Deconstructing the day
Victoria & Jonathan were unique by nature. Mushroom growers with a nebula based wedding theme. We knew from the start the day would be out of this world. And when they approached n&b to craft an extraordinary “deconstructed ceremony arbor”, we let the petals fall right into place.
Consistent with centerpieces, ceiling greens, and wedding party florals, the ceremony installation was one-of-a-kind with over 100 Dendrobium orchid stems supported by a wealth of white Quince branches. With so many creations under our design belt to date, this piece stands out as our most remarkable.
We have never felt more inspired, more proud, or more nectar&bloom than in this very moment.
3/6/23 Keeping our cool
A flower’s level of freshness is generally the sum of its process. Hours upon hours of careful conditioning (seasonal selection, defoliating, trimming, etc) culminates in the delivery of the best blooms.
Cut florals require consistent temps in all weather to preserve their highest quality. Our floral refrigerator is our greatest tool and its maintenance is THE top priority for our small business. Its annual spring service appointment means nectar&bloom will be best prepared to deliver the coolest stems year round keeping all of your most important arrangements fresh as a daisy.

Inevitably, every florist finds themselves elbow deep in the thorny throws of Valentine’s deliveries at one point or another (or every year for that matter). The Society of American Florists deems Valentine’s the #1 floral holiday with Mother’s Day following as a close second.
This year, we have chosen to skip the holiday and focus solely on our couples and their pending nuptials. But we still want to send our love and luck to all the suppliers, designers, delivery drivers and other team members slinging stems this V-Day. We wish you a smooth Floral Superbowl with a relaxing February 15th to follow!

When one of your own celebrates her biggest day! From start to finish my cousin Meaghan and fiancé Lance's wedding was about open hearts and open arms. A gathering of their nearest and dearest, the day was centered in the many definitions of "family" sharing our common love for two fantastic people.
As their florist, I felt inspired. As their guest, I felt honored. And as their family, I felt grateful.

8/20/22 Behind the scenes
What does it take to execute a breezy Bridgehampton fête in August’s heat? The upscale Insta-worthy look of a final event means logging lots of full sun hours digging in the sand, sweating it out only to escape under the boardwalk and await ceremony time.
Behind every great event you’ll find incredible collaborators. We were fortunate to work alongside the crew at the Bridgehampton Tennis & Surf Club for Laura & Dylan’s big day. Not to mention our incredible n&b team with designer Kathleen at the ready. Grateful to all who partnered that day to make Monstera magic happen for one very special couple!

Brooklyn has and will always be our home away from home. Our small LI based business finds itself flowering borough-based venues at least 70% of the time and Deity NYC is one of the most rare celebratory spots around.

As a part of the design process, booked clients enjoy a series of communications with our design team. The initial call gathers info for your custom floral proposal. A second call often follows to solidify design details and discuss the booking process further. Once booked, a Zoom meeting at 2 months out puts a face to the name and chats all changes to date, while the 30 day email confirms all final quantities for the big day.

Our spacious new design shop has proven the perfect venue for teaching workshops, this month’s wreath decorating classes in particular. 4 sessions hosted 32 attendees with great care paid to spacing, air circulation, safety measures, and fun of course!

2007 Long Island Horticultural Society student scholarship recipient & our very own Ann Marie Breyer was honored to return as guest speaker for LIHS’ 2018 December meeting. Entitled The Garden Path of a Scholarship Recipient, Ann Marie described her decade long career climb through the field of horticulture. She also led a floral design demo, nectar&bloom style resulting in stand out arrangements donated as part of a Chinese auction to support a scholarship fund for future plant lovers and flower freaks. Ann Marie’s success is proof positive that you never forget your roots!

Over 60 wedding professionals- nectar&bloom included- courted couples proposing the best of floral design, photography, wedding wear and more at 2018's LI Bridal Expo Super Show at the East Wind in Wading River. Both Ann Marie & Lisa welcomed the opportunity to speak with hundreds of Mr. and Mrs.' discussing design dreams, event plans and how to make floral visions a reality. Expos are multi-tasking at its finest and a great way for the newly engaged to seek a variety of options all under one roof. n&b highly recommends visiting a show during your wedding planning process to compare styles, prices and personalities, and even win a few prizes along the way!
2/14/18 High School sweethearts
Warming hearts and hands this Valentine's Day, nectar&bloom will partner with the National Honors Society at Half Hollow Hills High School in Dix Hills for a holiday fundraising event. Students will gift their sweethearts classic carnations for a cause with all club proceeds benefiting the Lend a Hand Project. The Lend a Hand Project assists Long Island's in-need families, including many young children, who are having difficulty navigating the challenges in their lives. Great applause to these students! This small gesture is sure to make major change for local community members.

#randomactsofflowers was the perfect vehicle to spread some flower love! The Society of American Florists Petal It Forward Day encouraged florists nationwide to gift two bouquets to customers- one for themselves and one to give to another friend, family member or complete stranger. nectar&bloom delighted in the undercover sunrise deliveries and was thrilled to catalog the arrangements' travels as they made their way from person to person. 8/5/17 Breast Cancer Research Foundation
nectar&bloom was a honored to partner with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation for it's 2017 Hamptons Paddle & Party for Pink at Mecox Bay Farm in Bridgehampton. Nearly $2 million and counting was raised towards breast cancer research at the Hawaiian themed soiree featuring Emcee Ryan Seacrest, DJs Quest Love and D-Nice and a musical performance by Taylor Dayne. Scoped out the scene, but also took the time to smell the flowers.

5/18/17 Take flight: Bees & brews
nectar&bloom was thrilled to partner with Old Westbury Gardens, Sam Adams and Hicksville Beer & Soda to shine a light on bee conservation and flower morphology on Friday, May 18th. The 200 acre Gold Coast formal gardens set the stage for 60 guests to enjoy a sunset flower morphology and backyard beekeeping tour led by nectar&bloom's own expert Ann Marie Breyer. Comradery created, guests sipped Sam Adams seasonal brews amongst the best of Long Island's late spring flowers. A night of delight for one and all!
